Twyla Keller
Background
I was born in Colorado, the second child for Ralph and Ruth Williams. my older brother and I were soon joined by two sisters and a brother. both our parents were artistic. Dad drew illustrations for his newspaper business and mother illustrated bible stories. As a child I drew only when assigned something in art class.
Education
I went to grade school in Grants, NM and Cortez, CO, high school in cortez and Radville Sask. Canada. I take classes at Dawson Community College when I can.
Influences
I am influenced by my family, especially my sons, by nature and paintings by other people.
How and where did you get started
When we moved to Glendive I went to New Comers Club and there I was invited to go to a painting class at Dawson Community College.
ARTISTIC TRAINING
I have taken classes from Ed Hay, Floyd Smith, Mildred Thompson and Bob Watts.
MEDIUM/MEDIA
I mostly work in oils but also like watercolors and pastels.
SUBJECTS
I paint scenery and still life and have painted portraits of my sons.
