Amanda Heimbuch (Mandy) is a Montana raised ceramic artist and mixed media painter. her work is unified with bold colors and patterns of "Old West" Montana. She took as many art classes as she could during her primary education. Following two years in college she earned an Associate of Art degree at Dawson Community College. From there she took one year at MSU-Billings and her first pottery class.

Following that school year in 2007 she returned to her hometown of Glendive and discovered Prairie fire Pottery in nearby Beach, North Dakota. there she worked and complete two internships with artist/owner Tama Smith, and fell in love with clay.
She has been working as a ceramic artist for 10 years and in 2013 started Country Girl Clay.

Amanda's love of painting comes from a passionate art teacher in school; her addiction for clay is credited to Tama at Prairie Fire Pottery where she spent two amazing summers... to be the best, you must learn from the best!
She remembers her love of art beginning as a small child. It was common to see her at the local cattle sale always dragging a coloring book or paper as well as a container of crayons in tow.

Her love of horses and all that is outdoor Montana are where her influences flow, allowing a diverse subject matter. Her work is characterized by patterns of tooled leather, signature turquoise and red flowing glazes, as well as horses, cowgirls and wildlife.
